Maternity Photography
Nemi says “Mums to be who opt for a pregnancy portrait session seem to be at ease with their bodies and positively embrace their pregnancy. It's great to witness it and to see a look of love, anticipation and hope beaming from their faces as they cuddle their bumps.”
Pregnancy sessions are relaxed, friendly and feel more like catching up with your best friend kind of affair with lots of creative photography thrown in between. Nemi’s sessions are very welcoming and friendly and with funky, relaxing music playing in the background she has found a way of making the mums and dads-to-be forget that they are in front of a camera and feel as if they are chilling out in a hammock somewhere tropical and warm (at least that’s how I feel like myself). A huge selection of organic herbal teas or freshly made coffees are also offered before the sessions begin and there is always a plate of biscuits which dads-to-be seem to enjoy very much. I order fresh seasonal flowers which are used to add a touch of elegance and quirkiness to each shoot – a few of the ladies have used the leaves from the flowers to cover their ‘privates’ in a tongue-in-cheek kind of pose. White drapes are also very popular especially when the maternity clothing the ladies have is not something they would like to look at on a photograph in years to come.
The pregnancy sessions last around an hour and a half to two hours which allows plenty of time to take an array of stylish and contemporary posses.
